Procedure

Soft tissue fillers, also called dermal fillers, facial fillers, or simply “fillers”, are used to fill up defects in the soft tissues, typically wrinkles, folds and dents in the face. Some fillers are intended to add volume, for example to the cheekbone or the chin and are often used for lip enhancement. Some fillers are used as little injections over a large area of the skin and by absorbing water have a refreshing effect. These are usually called skin boosts.

There are many products on the market. The safest fillers are non-permanent Hyalorunic acid fillers and calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres, which disappear spontaneously after a while depending on the patient’s metabolism, activity, the thickness of the fillers and the linkage between the filler particles. The filler’s longevity also depends on which area is treated. Although there are many products available on the market, Dr. Shahram, during his years of practice, has developed specific brands and types for each and every area, to have safe, long lasting and natural results. He only uses non-permanent FDA approved products.

Fillers are injected directly into the area to be treated either with a small needle or a special cannula, often after application of a topical anesthetic cream and or local anaesthesia. The effect is immediate but it gets better and more natural over the next two to three weeks and lasts between two to eighteen months, depending on the type of product and the treated area.
