A crooked or curved nose is one of the challenges of rhinoplasty. It is always an interval deviation that requires precise correction, and is often associated with dyspnea, which usually resolves or improves significantly after correction. Crooked noses have varying degrees of curvature, which can vary from subtle to dramatic.

While crooked noses can impact your breathing, they are usually just a cosmetic issue. However, if it affects your confidence and you avoid being photographed, you may be wondering what to do with a crooked nose to boost your confidence.

Surgery may be a solution you’ll want to think about. Rhinoplasty is the most common surgical option, but there are some non-surgical alternatives that can benefit you including fillers.

There are many reasons why some people have crooked noses, but two main ones are:

Potential Problems

A curved nose can be the result of underlying problems with the bones themselves  or cartilage & the nose tissues. Some of these may be triggered by early events, but usually include:

– injury or trauma (eg, a broken nose that does not heal properly)

– birth defects

– tumor

– serious infection

– previous nose job

A deviated septum

A deviated septum occurs when the inner wall separating the left and right nasal passages slopes sideways, partially blocking one side of the nose. Diaphragm deflection can occur after an injury, but some people are born with it. A deviated septum can cause noisy breathing, trouble sleeping on one side, or nosebleeds.

How to make a crooked nose look straight

Rhinoplasty in Dubai can offer the follwing:

– smaller nose

– reduce the length of the nose

– bridal/tip removal or reduction

– change asymmetry

– reshape nose tip

– dyspnea improved

When you should see Dr. Shahram

In many cases, a crooked nose does not cause any medical problems. However, you may also experience functional problems, such as  difficulty breathing. If you experience any of the following symptoms, you should see a doctor who can advise you on the treatment options that are best for you:

– swelling, pain and redness

– bleeding

– a crackling or rubbing sound can be heard when touching the nose

– you find it difficult to breathe through your nose

– feels like your nose is blocked

A crooked nose is a very common cosmetic problem, and you might be careful about your profile and avoid taking pictures. A crooked nose can be caused by a variety of causes, such as a broken nose that doesn’t heal properly, birth defects, or a deviated septum. A crooked nose usually doesn’t require treatment unless you have trouble breathing. If the appearance of your nose is affecting your self-esteem, it may be worth talking to your doctor about your concerns.
